Why Herbal enema?
The healing properties of herbs have not changed.
What was considered
to be healing herbs thousands of years ago, are still recognized as such
today.
Facts about herbal plantsThe physicians of the past studied herbs and worked with them.
They had a great respect for them, and passed this kowledge down through
generations in the form of recipes and folklore. Our ancestors used
herbs in the home. For their aroma, they rubbed strong smelling herbs on
their body as an insect repellent, to hide their human scent from
animals, they hunted and to allure their mates by using seductive herbs.
Herbs
can be used as the whole herb, leaves, root, wood, flowers or fruits.
They can be fresh herbs, dried herbs, fluid extracts, tinctures,
suppositories or pessaries. Applied orally, rectally or topically. Early
humans observed that when animals appeared ill, they would resort to
eating plants that they would avoid when well. It is recorded that our
ancestors sampled these plants, and discovered their healing properties.
We continue to learn about herbs today.

How does herbal enema work?
The mucous membrane of the rectum/colon is extremely porous. It will readily absorb administered herbs with fast delivery to the target area via the bloodstream. This route will produce the
same effect as orally administered herbs, however it acts a lot faster: so many times you will
see the effect of an enema in minutes due to the blood delivery via the portal veins and into the
general circulation. Hence this route is excellent for delivery, for example, of fever reducing herbs to reduce temperature
quickly, or herbs for soothing and nourishing the intestinal membrane.
The enema is administered at a temperature between 34 to 39 degree Celsius.
Benefits of herbal enema:
Some
herbal bowel cleansers help with chronic constipation problems, improve
overall effectiveness of the immune system, and also help reduce the
chance of contracting more serious conditions or diseases of the bowels.
